Dr. Joel Carmichael, DC, DACBSP served as the official Team Chiropractor for USA Beach Volleyball at the 2012 London Olympic Games. He is a current member of the medical support team for USA Beach Volleyball, regularly providing international coverage to Olympic athletes at major tournaments and World Championship Events, Professional World Tour Events and Olympic Team Trials. In 1996 Dr. Carmichael was awarded Diplomate status with the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians (the ACBSP®), the highest professional designation for a sports chiropractor in the United States. He has presented numerous lectures in the field of sports medicine and has taught advanced sports medicine concepts to chiropractors and others worldwide. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Clinical Investigation at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, pursuing research interests in orthopedics, sports injuries, biomechanics, and rehabilitation medicine.
